About Mouse
Mouse Scharfenaker graduated from the University Of Montana with a B.A. in speech pathology and a minor in art. She continued on to receive a Masters at U of M. Her time in Missoula was highlighted by ongoing ceramic classes with Rudy Autio.
Throughout her career as a speech pathologist she maintained her interest in ceramics through workshops, classes at the Arvada Center, and was a founder and teacher at the Roundtree Arts Center in Denver.
Mouse currently takes classes at the Art Students League of Denver and has a home studio in Denver.
She works primarily in lowfire earthenware. Her love for the richness of its color, and ability to adorn her pottery with sketches from nature as well as political commentary, keep her inspired.
Mouse’s work has appeared in the Lark Books’ Handbuilt Tableware, 2001, by Kathy Triplett.
